Felt is an experimental internet art platform and artist collective. Its IRL and URL experiences examine digital activism, hip hop culture, race, gender, and class. I was invited to the event by Dev Moore and drove down from Washington DC to the Superchief Gallery NY for a night to experience it first hand.
As we walked into the venue the first words that came to mind were whoa, it's lit! There were huge canvases hanging from the high ceilings, 3D and virtual reality projections on the walls, a back room of couches and a lot of televisions stacked on each other. I was even amazed at the freshly painted hallway to the bathroom that was designed as an open mouth leading to the uvula. My favorite part other than the art was the music; powered by Lethal Trip and LSDXOXO. I rediscovered my love for techno, electronic, and house sounds that my body hadn't felt in awhile.
